New York City

Shkumbin ‘Bini’ Mustafa

I was born in Prishtina, Kosovo. I studied Sports Science and Physical Education and worked as the sports editor at a daily newspaper.

In 1999, I left Kosovo as a refugee and relocated to the United States.

After studying Arts & Visual Communications in Connecticut, I moved to New York City and have been living there ever since. I worked as a certified PTR tennis professional and the general manager for a fashion brand,

I eventually earned my US citizenship in 2008. Today, I am a proud father of two children.

My passion for handball has led me to become president of The World's Handball Club where I have achieved great success domestically and internationally; we became the first US club to compete and win in Europe (London), Canadian National Champions, host North American and the Caribbean (NACHC) Super Globe qualifier, and participate at the IHF Super Globe championships in both men's and women's categories. For five consecutive years, we have hosted The Big Apple tournament, which is the largest international handball event in the USA.

In 2021 I became the vice-president of Forum Club Handball board as the first non-European member, and NYCTHC became a member of the union. FCH is an organization leading the equitable and fair management of all related matters for top European clubs within the handball ecosystem dictated by IHF and EHF.

This move reflects NYC Team Handball Club's commitment to contribute to the development and betterment of handball at a professional and recreational level, with a vision of making it one of the leading team sports in the US and the world.

Currently, I run my branding and creative firm where I help businesses build their unique identities and persuasive online presence.
