Episode 08: Mark Ortega

Mark Ortega was recently hired to coach the Dutch HV KRAS Volendam ladies team, making him the first US-born handball coach ever to head up a foreign club team.

Mark joins Bini Mustafa for this episode of Straight Handball Talk, where they discuss Mark’s coaching career and his take on the US preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

They also look back at thirteen years’ worth of memories, from their first meeting on the handball court in 2007 US Nationals in Delaware to traveling to Saudi Arabia to compete together at the 2019 IHF Super Globe.
